  • The music video 'You and Me' by Disclosure conforms to the conventions of the dance music genre. The cutting rate is very fast paced, with most shots lasting no longer then 2 seconds.
  • The video includes numerous slow motion shots throughout which gives the narrative based performance a conceptual approach as well.
  • The track include a lot of close up shots of the protagonists in order to express their emotions in an attempt to connect with the audience.
  • The rule of thirds is ignored during these close up shots which therefore positions the protagonists in the centre of the frame, placing the audience even closer to the characters.
  • The location is constantly changing throughout the video, due to the narrative aspect of the video following the characters on their journey to France. This is very conventional to a low-fi production, which most likely adopted the guerrilla film making style.
  • In conclusion the video 'You and Me' by Disclosure predominantly focuses on the younger generation, stereotypical to the dance genre. They are represented through the incorporation of night life, hedonistic behaviour, and sunshine.

  1. very good breakdown of shots Tom, however your reflection at the end needs more development and link it to your own production and what you have learned from the exercise.
